I truly believe the people that design most playgrounds are not parents. Because if they were, they would not design them completely open to the sun, no shade in site, cooking the children playing and the playground equipment. But there are exceptions, and Matthiessen Park is one of them. This park is for Irvington residents, but really monitored on the weekends. Some parking is metered, so double check.
