The answer is yes. You can eat a healthier hamburger by choosing lean ground meat, choosing a side salad instead of french fries, using a whole wheat bun, limiting the high fat toppings and adding lots of healthy toppings like lettuce and tomatoes. The bacon cheeseburger from Piper’s Kilt might not fit any of criteria of a healthy burger but it’s delicious…and remember you can always borrow the calories from another meal.
Do you know where you can actually order a healthy hamburger?
Why this is featured on The Lily List:
A really good burger. At one point while looking at the menu, I looked around the dining room and everyone was eating a burger. If that doesn’t make the decision of what you are going to eat, then I don’t really know what to tell you. The bun was toasted, the meat was tasty and not greasy, and the fries were well done and extra crispy.
Service was attentive and kid-friendly. Our drinks were never empty before we were asked if we wanted more, even my water. My daughter was preoccupied with crayons and a coloring sheet while my husband and I decided what to order and waited for the food to come to the table.
Additional comments from The Lily List
Chicken fingers were not the store bought frozen kind that are perfectly flat and stiff. Real chicken breaded and fried right in the kitchen.
There was an order of fried chicken coming out of the kitchen as we were leaving that is on my list to try next time. I’m pretty sure I’m going to have to borrow calories from another meal to eat this entree also.
