The Lily List
Living the Good Life - Westchester, Food, Fashion, & Fun
My much younger sister was home from college for the holidays so I decided to catch up with her at the Mediterranean restaurant, Eclisse, in White Plains. The restaurant was bright and open and the perfect setting for a sister's lunch.
I looked at the menu beforehand and knew I had to order the Sacchetti Tartufi. This was a pasta dish with three of my most favorite ingredients, black truffles, shiitake mushrooms, and pecorino cheese. It was delicious. The fresh pasta was stuffed … [Read more...]
Very, very rarely do I go out and have a girls-only night out so when I do, I make sure I pick a place I am going to like. I had heard good things about the "5 at 5" happy hour at BLT Steak so this is where the girls and I needed to be. My friend Susie is single so we were also checking out the scene for fun and nice guys. He came over and greeted us at the end of our meal. Tony is from Italy and started cooking in Brooklyn decades ago, then came to Westchester and has … [Read more...]
Frozen yogurt might be popular to us today with all of the boutique yogurt shops open, but this has been popular to Bloomingdale’s customers for the last 35 years ago. The only way you stay around for such a long time is because of the taste of your yogurt. It is excellent. Compared to the other popular recipes today, I would consider Forty Carrots’ the creamiest. It’s not uncommon to see customers replacing their lunch meal with a frozen yogurt and extra topping or two.

Have you ever felt like you don't have the time to go away but you need to get away? I know I feel this way most Wednesday mornings. The solution, go to the spa at the White Plains Ritz-Carlton where the experience takes you away from Westchester. It is a magnificent spa, but also a mini retreat because it is inside a hotel. The experience of driving up to the hotel entrance, exchanging words with the valet (free if you use the spa), walking through the hotel doors, takes you away to … [Read more...]
