Frozen yogurt might be popular to us today with all of the boutique yogurt shops open, but this has been popular to Bloomingdale’s customers for the last 35 years ago. The only way you stay around for such a long time is because of the taste of your yogurt. It is excellent. Compared to the other popular recipes today, I would consider Forty Carrots’ the creamiest. It’s not uncommon to see customers replacing their lunch meal with a frozen yogurt and extra topping or two.

Chelsea Clinton’s wedding was the talk of the town this summer when it was announced she was getting married so close to Westchester, in Rhinebeck, NY. Chelsea’s 9 tiers, 500 lbs, 4 ft tall wedding cake was made by La Tulipe Desserts in Mt. Kisco. It took a 9-person team to make this magnificent gluten-free, white with silver accent cake. This local bakery who already has a loyal customer-base from both Westchester and Connecticut, is well deserving of the honor to make the cake for our … [Read more...]

It’s an oldie but a goodie...when you find a place that can really make an apple turnover. And Riviera Bakehouse does just that. The apple turnover has been around for a long time, it’s almost a forgotten pastry. I think it’s because there are just so many bakeries out there that can’t make it right. If you have not had an apple turnover in a while or have never had one, you must try one at Riviera Bakehouse. This bakery is an all-around great bakery. You really can’t go wrong with … [Read more...]
The Barn at Bedford Post serves farm fresh food in a simple and casual setting. Co-owner, actor, and Westchester resident, Richard Gere, does not disappoint. The tranquil 18th century restored inn also includes the more formal but still comfortable restaurant, Farmhouse, yoga studio, and eight room inn. Reservations recommended.

Gallaway's has been around for 40 years because of pies, donuts, and word of mouth. It can only be their great baked goods that keep the doors open only Friday, Saturday, and Sunday. Owners, Bob and Patty Gallaway are pillars in the community. They have been able to establish real relationships with their customers, just another reason why customers keep coming back.

There is something about homemade ice cream that makes people a little bit nicer. It might be the excitement of earning the calories after a hard gym workout, childhood memories with your high school sweetheart, or that you bribed your kids with ice cream in exchange for chores around the house and it worked. As soon as you step into Main Street Sweets, you are hit with the smell of fresh baked goodies and sweet ice cream flavors. There is a wide assortment of treats for any sweet tooth, … [Read more...]
Just as a potter creates masterpieces from clay, Flourish creates savory treats from fresh fruits, vegetables, and organic whole-grains. On somewhat of an industrial street, this bakeshop is an open kitchen with cooling racks in the front where the baked goods come from the oven to cool and wait to be purchased. Don't be deceived, you will be more then pleasantly surprised by the baked goods from this unassuming location. Curbside pickup is offered because parking can be challenging. It … [Read more...]
I am a firm believer that some of the best food can come from some of the most unassuming locations. Ernesto’s Grill is one of these places. Placed in a building that looks like a windmill, this business is only about making good food and providing good service. Most customers place takeout orders. This leaves the staff-less dining room usually empty so you can make it your own with a bottle of wine from home, or dine with your kids without worrying about disturbing the next … [Read more...]
